The Law of Marriage Dowry in the Form of Stocks and Mutual Funds

How is it legal to give a marriage dowry in the form of shares or mutual funds?

Wassalamu'alaikum warahmatullahi wabarokaatuh.
Thank you for the questions asked. Dowry in Arabic is Al Siddaq, namely a gift from the groom to the bride as proof of the honesty he wants to marry her and proof of his good treatment to the prospective wife. Therefore, according to the language it means honest. The wisdom of giving a dowry is to respect a woman so that she can prepare herself. Dowry is a gift from a husband to his wife, both worldly and hereafter.
In Islam, the dowry is categorized as a condition of marriage. It is like the word of Allah SWT. in Qs. An-Nisa [3]: 4.
"Give a dowry (dowry) to the woman (whom you marry) as a gift willingly. Then if they hand over to you some of the dowry with pleasure, then eat (take) the gift (as food) which is delicious and with good results."
Then the condition of the dowry itself is something that has value, even though it is simple. So the dowry in the form of shares or mutual funds can be said to be valid because it is a valuable asset. The dowry given by the husband to the wife may be in the form of money, services, objects, and derivatives thereof. Most importantly, this dowry can later be transferred to its owner.
Making stock as a dowry has its pluses and minuses, just like any other item. An item can be valuable in one place, but not valuable in another. Or even decreased in value from when the dowry was given. In accordance with investment principles, making shares as a dowry is also inseparable from the risk of price fluctuations. Therefore, stocks and mutual funds that are used as dowry are shares or sharia mutual funds and are sought to have good and long-term prospects.
