The General Election Commission (KPU) officially appointed Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka as elected president and vice president in the 2024 presidential election. This determination was read out by KPU Chairman Hasyim Asy'ari in an open plenary meeting at the KPU office, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (24/7 /2024).
"The General Election Commission has appointed presidential and vice presidential candidate number 2, Mr. Prabowo Subianto and Mr. Gibran Rakabuming Raka, as president and vice president for the period 2024 to 2029," said Hasyim.
Based on the CNN Indonesia report, this open plenary meeting was attended by the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu), the Honorary Council of Election Organizers (DKPP), the leadership of the Attorney General's Office, the leaders of the political parties participating in the 2024 election, the Chair of Commission II of the DPR RI, the political parties supporting the presidential and vice presidential candidates, as well as number 1 presidential and vice presidential candidates, Anies-Muhaimin.
The determination of the president and vice president is final, after the Constitutional Court (MK) decided to reject the 2024 General Election Results Dispute (PHPU) lawsuit filed by Anies-Muhaimin and Ganjar-Mahfud. In their lawsuit, the Anies and Ganjar camps want the Constitutional Court to cancel the results of the KPU's vote count regarding the presidential election which is set for March 20 2024. After going through the trial process, the Constitutional Court decided to reject the petition for the case filed by Candidate Candidate Numbers 01 and 03.
After this determination, Prabowo-Gibran will be inaugurated on October 20 2024. They will serve as president and vice president until 2029.
Prabowo Calls for Unity and Harmony
Prabowo Subianto reminded us of unity and harmony to advance Indonesia. According to him, all leadership elements in this country must work together and be united for the sake of the people.
"After this, the people demanded that all elements of leadership must work together to bring goodness, prosperity, prosperity, eliminate poverty, corruption and hunger in Indonesia. This is the people's demand. "We must be united, harmonious," said Prabowo after being confirmed as the elected President of the Republic of Indonesia at the KPU office, Jakarta.
Prabowo said that no Indonesian child should be left behind and not enjoy the benefits of independence. He also promised to carry out his duties as best as possible as president together with vice president Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
