Migrant Institute Crisis Center Coordinator Dompet Dhuafa, Nur Salim, in his release on Sunday (12/1) emphasized that the Migrant Institute also assessed that PPTKIS has neglected to carry out its obligations according to Law 39 of 2004. PPTKIS is obliged to monitor but this is not done.
In fact, continued Nur Salim, when Erwi complained about the persecution he had suffered, PPTKIS did not provide a good solution, instead he called the Hong Kong agent and persuaded Erwi to return to his employer.
"This means that PPTKIS and agents turn a blind eye to the conditions experienced by BMIs and only aim to earn deductions from their wages, while the government always 'forces' BMIs to believe that PJTKIs and agents are protectors, therefore BMIs are obliged to enter PJTKI and agents. But in fact? There was an Erwi who was again put by a recruitment agency and agent in a "house of torture," said Nur Salim.
MI DD itself provides assistance (advocacy) and continues to monitor developments in Erwiana's condition and the resolution of her case.

Nur Salim explained that in the future the protection efforts for TKI must be increased. He hopes that the National Agency for Placement and Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (BNP2TKI) and the Indonesian Embassy can play a greater role in the protection of Indonesian migrant workers abroad.
