Dompet Dhuafa Send Doctors, Nurses, Midwives, and Pharmacists to the NTT Flood Disaster Area

DDHK.ORG - Various humanitarian activities were carried out by the team Dompet Dhuafa at the location of the flood disaster East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) on Friday (9/4/2021). Including, providing health services in 3 districts, by deploying medical personnel, ranging from doctors, nurses, midwives, to pharmacists.

This can be seen from the daily report on the Banjir Bandang Response of East Nusa Tenggara Province that was delivered by the Team Disaster Management Center (RCD) Dompet Dhuafa.

In East Flores District, the team provided health services at the Refugee Post at SD Inpres Weiwerang, East Adonara, by deploying 2 doctors and 5 medical volunteers, assisted by a medical team from Hasanuddin University.

The team serves 15 patients. Generally, they undergo wound care and are diagnosed with hypertension, coughs and colds.

On the same day, the Medical team from Hasanuddin University also moved to Lembata District, to provide health services in one of the areas affected by the flood disaster in NTT. They consist of 1 doctor and 4 medical volunteers.

In East Kupang Regency, the team provided free medical treatment in Oesao Village, RT.36 / RW. 12. The medical team consists of 2 doctors, 1 nurse, 1 midwife, 1 pharmacist, and 1 SKM staff.

The number of patients reached 104 people. Generally they are diagnosed with tinea, ARI, vertigo, and common cold.

Open General Kitchen and Logistics Distribution

Apart from providing health services, a team Dompet Dhuafa also opened public kitchens in several evacuation locations. On Friday, 632 packaged rice and lunch packages were prepared by the team in 4 evacuation locations, East Adonara District, East Flores Regency.

The team also distributed logistics for disaster survivors. Including, distributing masks for them.

As is known, due to floods in various areas in NTT, 138 people were reported dead worldwide, 61 people were missing, 129 people were injured, 1.700 families or about 4.829 people were affected, and 2.019 or 13.226 people were forced to flee. In terms of material losses, 1.114 houses were damaged, 1.992 houses were affected, 87 public facilities were affected, and 24 public facilities were severely damaged.
