Becoming a resident of Heaven is everyone's dream, especially a believer, because the dowry is iman to Allah without associating Him with anything. As the words of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam which reads:
مفتاح الجنة شهادة أن لا إله إلا الله (راوه البزار)
"The key to Heaven is testifying that there is no God (who has the right to be worshiped) except Allah." (HR Al-Bazzar)
In connection with the hadith above, Wahab bin Munabbih Rahimahullah Ta'ala was once asked by someone:
God bless you لك. (رواه البخاري معلقا)
“Isn't Laa ilaaha illallaah the key to Heaven?
He replied: "True, but there is not a single key unless it must have teeth. If you carry a key with teeth, then (the door) will be able to open for you. But if not, then it cannot be opened to you.” (Narrated by Imam Bukhari mu'allaq)
According to the Ulama in explaining the qaul (sayings) above, it is true that Laa's creed is a illallaah is the key to Heaven, especially since this sentence was uttered at the end of a Muslim's life. Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam said:
مَنْ كَانَ آخِرُ كَلَامِهِ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ (رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد)
"Whoever's last words are Laa ilaaha illallaah, then he (definitely) will enter Heaven." (Reported by Abu Dawud)
However, we have never found a key, except that it must have teeth or serrations, where one key is different from another. If there is only one tooth that is different, surely the key will not work except with a key that has been made according to what it is paired with.
For example, we have a house, in our house, of course, there are many doors and even vehicles that we have. Each of these objects must have its own key. If appropriate, of course it will open or work. But if not, then it won't open or work. That's how it is with the keys to Heaven.
So the Ulama explained that what is meant by the tooth or cleat of the key to Heaven in the form of the monotheistic sentence Laa ilaaha illallaah are our good deeds.
The righteous deeds in question are of course how one can maintain a good relationship with Allah & His creatures. Maintain hablun minallah (relationship with God) & hablun minannas (relationship with humans). So what is said in the following hadith of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam is true:
أَكْثَرُ مَا يُدْخِلُ اَلْجَنَّةَ تَقْوى اَللَّهِ وَحُسْنُ اَلْخُلُقِ (رواه الترمذي وابن ماجه)
"The practice that enters Paradise the most is piety to Allah and good morals." (Reported by Tirmidhi & Ibn Majah)
May Allah Subhanãhu wa Ta'ala enter us into His Heaven, amen...
