DDHK. ORG – Talbiyah is the answer to God's call through the Prophet Abraham when the construction of the Kaaba was completed with his son, namely Prophet Ismail AS.

Talbiyah sentence
A moment after intention strengthened in heart and verbally in ihram dressing at the miqat. Pictured in dreams and memories let go of all worldly interests and affairs. Gliding from a very deep heart a sentence that thrills the hearts of lovers. There were no tears in my eyes when I said it
” لَبَّیكَ الّلهُمَّ لَبَّیكَ، لَبَّیكَ لاشَریكَ لَكَ لَبَّیكَ، إنَّ الْحَمْدَ وَ النِّعْمَةَ لَكَ وَالْم ُلكَ، لاشَریكَ لَكَ”
Labbaika Allahumma labbaik, labbaika lasyarika laka labbaik, innal hamda wan ni'mata laka wal mulk la syarika laka
Meaning:
I fulfill Your call O God. I fulfill Your call, O Allah, and You have no partner whatsoever. Indeed, praise, favors, and power are only for You without any partner for You."

Reading Talbiyah is the Law of the Sunnah
The legal talbiyah sunnah, unless according to Maliki school of thought. This school views it as an obligation. Meanwhile, the Hanafi School stipulates a condition, so that those who leave this worship are required to pay a dam.

Male congregations are encouraged to raise their voices of Talbiyah
For male congregations, it is sunnah to raise the voice of the talbiyah, while for female congregations, it is sufficient to hear alone and those who are beside them. Reading this talbiyah aloud is based on the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad SAW.
عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ صَلَّى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْمَدِينَ ةِ الظُّهْرَ أَرْبَعًا وَالْعَصْرَ بِذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَسَمِعْتُهُمْ يَصْرُخُونَ بِه ِمَا جَمِيعًا. (رواه البخاري)
Meaning:
From Anas ra. said; The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam performed the Zhuhur prayer in Medina four cycles and the 'Asr prayer in Dzul Hulaifah two cycles. And I heard them doing talbiyah by raising their voices on both of them (hajj and 'Umrah).

Meditation Time
The right time to pronounce talbiyah is:
- For pilgrims who are performing Umrah, it is said after the intention for Umrah until they are about to perform Tawaf.
- for pilgrims who are on pilgrimage, it is said after the intention of pilgrimage to catapult the jumrah on the 10th of Dzulhijjah.
Talbiyah is also recommended to be read when meeting other congregational groups or when circumstances change. For example, when going up and down mountains, getting on and off vehicles, meeting friends and after praying.

Meaning and Wisdom of Talbiyah
Talbiyah is a sacred and important statement that someone has monotheism in Allah, glorifies the oneness of Allah, and "promises" to stay away from shirk and only surrender and ask for help only to Allah SWT.
Hopefully we can learn the wisdom of the meaning of Talbiyah and can carry out Talbiyah lessons in strengthening belief and faith as well as the declaration of Tawhid in our daily lives.
