Welcoming this victory, Erdogan expressed his gratitude and thanked the Turkish people who continued to believe in the AKP amid the continuous 'conspiracy' attacks directed at his party.
This victory in the local elections is also proof that the attacks on Turkey have failed and that the Turkish people have protected the new independence that Turkey has fought for together.
"You have protected the struggle for new independence in Turkey," said Erdogan, who was welcomed by his supporters.
The AKP's victory was also welcomed by the Muslim world. In Sarajevo, Bosnia, Muslims welcomed the AKP's victory. In Gaza, Erdogan's supporters cheered the AKP's victory and raised three flags; Turkey, Egypt and Palestine.
