HONG KONG | MACAU | INDONESIA - Hong Kong recorded only one new case of Covid-19 on Thursday (16/4/2020). Hong Kong has consistently recorded a decrease in the escalation of the outbreak.
"This is the fifth consecutive day Hong Kong has recorded a single digit new infection rate," wrote Hong Kong public broadcaster Television (RTHK).
Dr Chuang Shuk-kwan from the Center for Health Protection (CHP) revealed that the last confirmed case was a 19-year-old student who returned to Hong Kong from the UK earlier this month. He tested negative when he started the mandatory quarantine at a hotel. However, after completing the 14-day quarantine period, he caught a fever and then tested positive for Covid-19.
Despite the decline in the number of new cases, everyone in Hong Kong should not let down their guard regarding hygiene and social distancing practices. "Because cases abroad are ongoing. Even if the number of cases in Hong Kong drops slightly, we still have to be vigilant, especially to prevent imported cases from spreading to the public, ”said Dr. Chuang.
He said all factors, namely restrictions on non-residents arriving in Hong Kong, testing and quarantine, and individual efforts to maintain social distancing and cleanliness contributed to the decline in Covid-19 cases in the country of Concrete.
Dr Linda Yu from the Hospital Authority said 26 coronavirus patients had been discharged on Wednesday (15/4/2020). About 520 are still being treated in public hospitals. Nine of them are in critical condition.

In Indonesia, more people have recovered than have died
Positive news also comes from the country regarding the handling of Covid-19. Based on the latest data released by the Government of Indonesia, it shows a significant increase in the number of recovered patients. Until Thursday (16/4/2020) at 12.00 WIB, the total number of patients who had recovered exceeded the number of cases of patients who had died.
The government spokesman for the handling of the corona virus, Achmad Yurianto, said there were an additional 102 recovered patients. Thus, the total number of patients recovered from Covid-19 became 548 people.
"The additional 102 patients recovered, bringing the total to 548 people," said Yuri in a press conference at Graha BNPB, Jakarta.
In the same period, there were an additional 27 patients who died due to Covid-19. In accumulation, there are 496 patients who died after being infected with Covid-19.
"The death toll increased by 27 people, bringing the total to 496 people," said Yuri.
Despite recording a significant number of recovered patients, there was still an increase in the number of Covid-19 patients as many as 380 Covid-19 cases on Thursday.
