Send Money at BNI Remittance Automatically Give Alms

CAUSEWAY BAY | HONG KONG - Dompet Dhuafa Hong Kong (DDHK) and BNI Remittance Ltd., collaborated in donations, by launching the "Send Money, Automatic Alms" program. Through this program, every Indonesian citizen, including Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) Hong Kong, who sends money at BNI Remittance, is automatically donated HK $ 3, which is taken from the shipping fee paid.

"The donation money collected is to support the program to establish an Indonesian Mushola in Hong Kong which is being raised by DDHK," said the General Manager. Dompet Dhuafa Hong Kong, Muhammad Imam Baihaqi.

Regarding the program, DDHK and BNI Remittance also work together in the form of placing DDHK donation boxes at BNI service branch offices in 4 locations. Namely, Causeway Bay, Hung Hom, Yuen Long, and Tsuen Wan.

The “Send Money, Automatic Alms” program, said Imam Baihaqi, was motivated by the high interest of PMI Hong Kong to give alms, the need to provide easy donation services, and the large number of PMIs who made remittance transactions or remittances through BNI Remittance. "This cooperation program is implemented throughout the month of Ramdhan," he said.

Sharing in Troubled Times

DDHK's undeniable progress among the Indonesian people and the PMI community in Hong Kong is a factor that encourages BNI Remittance to collaborate in this “Send Money, Automatically Alms” program. For example, support for da'wah activities in the midst of PMI's taklim assemblies, recitation of expatriate mothers and fathers, providing social assistance for PMI with problems, providing shelter, and distributing aid to poor people and communities affected by the disaster in the country.

Even in the midst of the difficulty of doing face-to-face activities in the midst of the Covid-19 outbreak in Hong Kong, DDHK is still committed to providing alternative activities through online tausiyah via Facebook and various other media. "We also see that PMI Hong Kong's trust in DDHK is quite high," said Director of BNI Remittance Ltd., Eko Kristianto.

For DDHK, working with BNI Remittance is a strategic step because of the large number of BNI loyal customers in Hong Kong. The potential for donations collected is also relatively large.

"The minimum can reach HK $ 20 thousand," said Eko.

Eko hopes that through this cooperation program BNI Remittance can introduce DDHK to BNI Remittance customers. He also hopes that this program can be a stimulus for BNI Remittance customers to give alms.

"And most importantly, we want all of us to be able to share and care for those in need, especially in this difficult situation," he said. [DDHKNews]
