Want to Love the Messenger, Recognize and Exemplify His Attributes

DDHK.ORG - As usual, on Tuesday (17/3/2020) last night Dompet Dhuafa Hong Kong conducted an online study by Dai Cordofa. The study was followed by volunteers, DD University students, and students from the Al-Qur'an Clinic. This study was also attended by the congregation of several majelis taklim DDHK preaching partners.

Ustadz Arip Darmawan, Dai Cordofa, who gave the study material, conveyed the theme of the previous week, about tips on strengthening faith. "This time we discuss the second tip, namely mahabbah or the love of the Prophet," he said.

"To love the Prophet Muhammad, we need to know the characteristics of the Prophet Muhammad to be emulated in life," said Ustadz Arip.

These characteristics are, first, al-basyariyah (humane). For example, he used to treat friends well and call them with a preferred nickname.

Another example, treating his wife well. "Once he invited Siti Aisyah to run and Aisyah won it," said Ustadz Arip.

He also treats his grandchildren with great affection. Once, said Ustadz Arip, during the prayer his grandson, Hasan, climbed on his back while the Prophet was prostrating. Rasulullah saw then held his prostration for a long time, so that his grandson would not fall.

Our Master Muhammad [s] also treated his enemies well. "Once the Prophet when preaching at Taif was ridiculed and pelted with filth. But he did not respond with evil, but instead prayed for good, hopefully a generation will be born who worship Allah Ta'ala in that country, "said Ustadz Arip.

Rasulullah saw also loved animals. Ustadz Arip said that one time the Messenger of Allah saw the camel tired because of the heavy burden he was carrying. The Prophet then rebuked the owner of the camel, not to give heavy burdens beyond his camel's limits.

The second attribute of the Messenger of Allah, al-maksum (preserved from mistakes). Like ordinary humans, he could make mistakes. However, if the Prophet made a mistake, Allah immediately rebuked him, as described in the word of Allah in verses 1-11 of surah 'Abasa.

"In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful. (1) He (Muhammad) looked sour and turned away, (2) because a blind man had come to him (Abdullah bin Ummi Maktum). (3) And do you know that (Muhammad) perhaps he wanted to purify himself (from sin), (4) or he (wanted) to receive teachings, which benefited him? (5) As for those who feel themselves self-sufficient (Quraish officials), (6) then you (Muhammad) pay attention to him, (7) even though there is nothing (reproach) for you if he does not purify himself (believers). (8) And as for the person who comes to you hastily (to get a teaching), (9) while he is afraid (of Allah), (10) you (Muhammad) even ignore him. (11) May not (like that)! Indeed, (the teachings of Allah) are a warning. "

The third property, as-sidqu (true). Rasulullah saw was known as a person who always spoke the truth, there were no lies and lies.

"Once upon a time, the Prophet joked with a grandmother and said that in heaven there will be no grandmothers. As a result, the grandmother was gloomy. Finally it was explained, in heaven later the grandmother will be young again, and the grandmother will be happy because of it, "said Ustadz Arip.

The fourth attribute, al-fathonah (intelligent). Thanks to the Prophet's intelligence at the age of 30, he was able to unite the Quraish community who were at odds with the laying of the Black Stone. Because of his intelligence, the preaching of Islam continued.

Other characteristics of him, al-amanah (trustworthy), at-tabligh (convey), and al-ittijam (commitment).

"Let us imitate the habits of the Prophet in everyday life. For example, don't forget to pray before doing activities, ”said Ustadz Arip. [Praise]
