Founding Yacipta, Pak Chandra Educates Indonesian Migrant Workers as Entrepreneurial Literacy

DDHK.ORG - Wahyudi Chandra, business owner to send money to Hong Kong, Chandra Remittance, founded a social organization called Yayasan Cipta Kasih Damai Sejahtera (YACIPTA). The establishment of this non-profit-oriented foundation is an expression of gratitude for the man who is usually called “Pak Chandra” to God because his business was barely affected Covid-19 which is an epidemic.

“I want my life to be more useful for many people, not just making money. I want to share; share experiences and motivation, and can help provide inspiration and solutions, based on my life experiences, "said Mr. Chandra when contacted ddhk.org, Sunday (3/1/2021).

Various concrete efforts were made by Mr. Chandra in sharing with Indonesian migrant workers in Hong Kong. Among them, allocating funds worth Rp. 500 million a year for the prize draw program at Chandra Remittance. This raffle program itself provides prizes ranging from cellphones, refrigerators, televisions, motorbikes, to houses.

In addition, Pak Chandra now frequently tours Indonesian migrant worker communities in various locations in Hong Kong. In their midst, the man who before becoming a successful entrepreneur had the status of an Indonesian worker (TKI) provided motivation and entrepreneurial consultation.

"I have a dream, in the next 10 years, TKI in Hong Kong will be quiet. My hope is that my friends in Hong Kong can go home and cultivate the potential that exists in their hometowns, by collaborating in business. And I, with more than 25 years of business experience, am ready to facilitate them, ”he said.

As proof of his seriousness, in June 2020 Mr. Chandra even created a WhatsApp group "I SHOULD BE BOS" which was attended by many Indonesian migrant workers in Hong Kong. "In the group I gave them motivation, life and business experiences, and my reflections," said the father of three children.

Birthday January 6

YACIPTA was founded by Pak Chandra on January 6, 2020. The date coincides with the birth date of his beloved wife, Bekti Dwi Wahyuni.

"The vision and mission, in the past I have experienced a poor life. I want to share experiences, so that we can change our destiny, not complain about and violate fate. According to my belief, everyone should be able to be a blessing, not just asking for blessings, "said Pak Chandra.

The establishment of YACIPTA itself cannot be separated from Pak Chandra's will to share. A year before the foundation was founded, he admitted that he had contributed a lot. "But in my opinion it is not effective and my ability has limits. Mending, I give motivation and encourage them to be independent, they can earn their own money. Because I believe, we were not born to be beggars, ”said the man who started a business in Hong Kong since 1997.

Pak Chandra plans, YACIPTA will be a place for him to share, provide entrepreneurship education, and provide skills training.

Want to Succeed, Indonesian Migrant Workers Must Trade

When asked what are the conditions for Indonesian migrant workers in Hong Kong to be successful in entrepreneurship and independently in making their own money without migrating abroad, he answered, "they have to do business and trade."

"The trick is simple. Study. Everything needs a process. Many have capital but cannot trade. Moreover, they have no capital. We have to be good at reading the location, environment, and people's needs, ”said the man who admitted that he had been selling on the Victoria Park bridge for 13 years before starting a business.
