The Narcissistic Plague Ruled Indonesian Politics

The political world in Indonesia is currently hit by a strange phenomenon in the form of a narcissistic (self-worship) epidemic. In fact, narcissistic politics is not productive for the development of the nation and state.

"In the world of politics we are now too narcissistic, which has led to image politics," said the Secretary General of the Central Leadership Council of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Anis Matta at the opening of the Regional Conference II of the North Sumatra Prosperous Justice Party in Medan, Friday (8/10) ) night.

According to Anis, narcissistic politics tend to like to show their busyness and enjoy being flattered. “Politics like this tends to show that we are always busy, have done a lot, and like to be praised for things we don't do. We are showing our busyness, but actually we are not productive, ”he said scathingly.

The deputy chairman of the DPR RI said that the Indonesian nation would be able to produce something big if narcissistic politics were eliminated. "If narcissism can be eliminated, God willing, we will have a big obsession for the interests of this nation and country," he added.

Apart from the narcissistic epidemic, the Indonesian political world is also plagued by the disease of "quick complacency" and tends to always feel that they are superior to others.

He admitted that he had been asked for advice from a regional head in Yogyakarta who would be asked to receive an award as an anti-corruption hero.

"I suggest to be rejected, because what he has done is a very ordinary thing and does not need to be appreciated in such a way. A person can be called a hero if he is an ordinary person but is capable of doing unusual things, ”he said.

He invited PKS cadres to do big things, not to become complacent and not feel they should be respected. (Between / Liputan6)
