UIN Surabaya Students Provide Vocational Training for PMI Hong Kong

CAUSEWAY BAY | HONG KONG - Five students of the State Islamic University of Sunan Ampel (UINSA) Surabaya who are currently interning at Dompet Dhuafa Hong Kong (DDHK) was assigned to provide skills training for Indonesian migrant workers (PMI). Namely, computer training, English and reading the Koran.

"The enthusiasm of PMI mothers in participating in these training programs needs to be appreciated," said Alvin Uways Alqorni, one of the students who became the training tutor.

The students were assigned to become computer training tutors and read the Koran on Saturday (24/8/2019) at the DDHK office, in Causeway Bay. Computer training materials include how to operate a laptop, to dissect the features that exist in Microsoft Word. Meanwhile, the reading training program material Al-Quran starting with the procedure for reading the Hijaiyah letters with the correct makhraj.

On Sunday (25/8/2019), the UINSA students provided computer and English language training, also at the DDHK office. Different participants attended the training program on Saturday and Sunday.

"Computer material on Sunday is the same as Saturday's computer material. I gave this material because it is this basic knowledge that you should know when you first learn computer science, ”said Alya, one of the computer tutors.

Meanwhile, the English material provided in this training program includes introductory procedures in English and basic knowledge such as reading procedures for years, hours, and ordinal and cardinal numbers in English.
