Prayer is the core or brain of worship. Prayer is also the weapon of the believer. There are actually two kinds of prayer:

1. Prayer of worship, namely the condition in which a believer asks Allah Subhanahu wata'ala in matters of obedience to worship Him.

2. Prayer for problems (affairs), namely praying to Allah Subhanahu wata'ala so that he will be given maslahat (goodness) and avoided from madlarat (badness).

In fact, if a believer improves the quality of his worship and obedience to Allah, he is actually praying for the good of himself. But if he is immoral, he is treating himself to get madlarat.

However, it is permissible or even recommended for a believer to pray to Allah in every matter.

Among the prayers for ease of affairs are:

1. It was narrated from Anas bin Malik radliyãllahu 'anhu's friend, Rasulullah shallallãhu 'alaihi wasallam said to his daughter, Fatima radliyãllahu 'anha: “What prevents you from hearing what I will instruct you, (that is) you say in the morning and evening":

يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّوْمُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغِيْثُ، أَصْلِحْ لِي شَأْنِي كُلَّهُ، وَلَا تَكِل٥٥ تَكِلِ ْسِي طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ (رواه النسائي والبيهقي)

(Yaa Hayyu Ya Qoyyuum, birohmatika astaghiits, ashlih lii sya'nii kullahu, walaa takilnii ilaa nafsii thorfata 'aiin)

"O Most Living Essence and O Most Standing Essence, by Your grace I beg for help, fix all my affairs for me, and do not leave me to myself (even just) for a blink of an eye." (HR Nasa'i & Baihaqi)

2. From Anas bin Malik's friend radliyãllahu 'anhu also, Rasulullah shallallãhu 'alaihi wasallam prayed:

“اللَّهمَّ لا سَهلَ إلَّا ما جَعَلتَه سَهلًا، وأنتَ تَجعَلُ الحَزْنَ إذا شِئتَ سَهلًا” (أخرجه ابن حلاب حبان وصين ي عمل اليوم والليلة والبيهقي)

(Allaahumma laa sahla illaa maa ja'altahuu sahlaa, wa anta taj'alul huzna idzaa syi'ta sahlaa)

“O Allah, there is no ease except that which You make easy. And You, if you will, (can) make sadness (become) easy." (Reported by Ibn Hibban, Ibn As-Sunni, & Baihaqi)

Hope it works!

Peace, mercy and blessings of God
