Pillars and Compulsory Hajj

The pillars of Hajj are all the practices or activities that must be carried out during the pilgrimage, and if one of the practices is not carried out, the pilgrimage is invalid.

Pillars of pilgrimage may not be replaced with dams (fine) if abandoned. According to the Shafi'i school of thought, there are five pillars of Hajj, namely:
1. Ihram, which means or intends to perform the pilgrimage.
2. Wukuf, namely staying silent in Arafah on the 9th of Dzulhijjah.
3. Tawaf, which is circling the Kaaba seven times.
4. Sa'i, namely jogging between the hills of Shafa and Marwah seven times.
5. Tahallul, namely releasing ihram by shaving or cutting hair.

The obligatory pilgrimage is everything that must be done in the pilgrimage, but the legitimacy of the pilgrimage does not depend on it. If not done, must be replaced with a dam. According to Sheikh Sa'id in the Book of Busyral Karim, there are six obligatory points of Hajj, namely:
1. Mabit in Muzdalifah on the night of the 10th of Dzulhijjah
2. Throw the jumrah aqabah seven times on the 10th of Dzulhijjah
3. Throw three jumrah on tasyriq day (11, 12, and 13 of Zulhijah) on 3 pillars in Mina.
4. Mabit on tasyriq night
5. Ihram from miqat
6. Tawaf wada', namely the farewell tawaf before leaving Mecca.

Hopefully we can all carry out the pilgrimage by completing all the pillars and obligatory Hajj.
