Again, No Additional New Covid-19 Cases in Hong Kong and Macau

ON Wednesday (29/4/2020) Hong Kong did not record any new cases of Covid-19 for the fourth day in a row. A strong sign, the threat of the corona virus has subsided in the Land of Concrete.

"It is the sixth time in 10 days the city has had no new infections," wrote the South China Morning Post (SCMP).

Even so, the Center for Health Protection (CHP) again urged Hong Kong people to maintain social distancing from others as much as possible in their daily lives to minimize the risk of infection.

The community is also advised to leave their homes to a minimum and avoid social activities such as eating out or other gatherings, to minimize the risk of outbreak clusters that emerge in the community.

As the COVID-19 situation remains severe with the number of reported cases worldwide continuing to increase, all citizens are strongly advised to avoid all non-essential travel outside Hong Kong and maintain strict personal and environmental hygiene at all times.

The Hospital Authority reports that there are currently 231 patients under isolation. Meanwhile, 830 patients have been discharged after undergoing the recovery process.

Meanwhile, Macau has had no new imported Covid-19 cases for 21 consecutive days since April 8. The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Center today announced that another confirmed new coronavirus patient has been discharged and transferred to the Centro Clínico de Saúde Pública for a further 14 days of isolation recovery.

Macau's Covid-19 case was first confirmed on January 22. Nearly all Macau's coronavirus cases are “imported” cases, with a second batch starting March 15.
