DDHK News, America - The Islamic organization in America, the Muslim American Society (MAS) and the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA), are holding an annual convention to reaffirm the basic principles of Islam and show Islam as the fastest growing religion in the world.
More than 20.000 Muslims from across the United States are expected to attend the convention which will take place from 24-26 May 2014 at the Baltimore Convention Center.
"For decades Islam has been a hot issue in America and around the world especially since the tragic events of 9/11," said a statement published on the ICNA website.
“America is starting to express fear more than ever, raising questions like what is Islam? Who is Muslim? What are the principles of the Islamic faith? How to "believe" or "not believe" a Muslim neighbor, coworker, friend or fellow citizen. "
"Much of this fear and distrust is due to a lack of knowledge about Islam and Muslims," stressed the ICNA.
The United States is home to a Muslim minority numbering between six and eight million.
ICNA is one of the largest grassroots, non-profit, Muslim organizations in North America with many projects, programs and activities designed to assist in reforming society at large.
