Ruqyah, its meaning and benefits

Ruqyah, its meaning and benefits

Assalamualaikum. Ustadz, I want to ask a question.

Actually, what is the meaning of ruqyah, its benefits or its purpose?

Thank you, Ustadz.

Greetings, Fulanah

ANSWER:

Wassalamu'alaikum warahmatullahi wabarokaatuh.

Bismillah… Ruqyah literally means prayer, incantation, or spell. And, there are syar'i ruqyah (according to Islamic law) and some are not syar'i.

It is a prayer intended to fortify oneself from evil, 'ain (diseases caused by the eyes of others who do not like), jealousy, envy, and madness. If ruqyah is syar'i, of course the prayers that are chanted are in the form of verses from the Qur'an and wirid or dhikr that comes from the Prophet Muhammad.

Ruqyah syar'iyah must meet absolute requirements such as:

  1. Sourced from the verses of the Qur'an and hadith;
  2. Strong belief from peruqyah and people who are ruqyah;
  3. The only sincere intention is to ask Allah for help.

Among the benefits and objectives of ruqyah are as follows:

  1. Increase your taqarrub (approach) to Allah because it is a prayer;
  2. Including the sunnah that should be followed;
  3. Can treat diseases caused by jinn;
  4. Can treat psychological diseases, such as anxiety, sadness, insomnia, envy, and jealousy;
  5. Gives inner peace;
  6. Protect someone from the evil that will befall him;
  7. Interrupting attacks by evil people, such as shamans, sorcerers, witchcraft, and witchcraft;
  8. Fulfilling one's desires because it includes prayer.

Wallâhu a'lam bish-showâb.

Regards!
