Joint SAR Team Finds Another Landslide Victim in Bogor

DDHK. ORG – The Joint SAR team has found one more victim Avalanche in Kepatihan Panaragan, Central Bogor District, Bogor city, West Java.

Reported from dmcdompetdhuafa.org, the discovery of age this Friday (14/10/2022), the Disaster Management Center (DMC) Dompet Dhuafa as one of the teams that joined helped in the evacuation process. However, the victim was found dead.

"The victim was found on behalf of Dini (54) at around 15.15 WIB. There is one victim who has not been found yet," said Taqi Falsafati as the DMC Emergency Response Team Dompet Dhuafa reporting from Bogor.

It is known, the victim was evacuated to the Bogor City Hospital for further processing. The victim was found after the efforts of the joint SAR team opened an access route to the victim through excavations at a depth of 2 meters and it was discovered that the victim was squeezed by a refrigerator and debris from building debris.

Search and Rescue Team Back

With this, the joint SAR team resumed their search for one victim on behalf of Ms. Warasih (57) due to the landslide that occurred in Gang Kepatihan Panaragan, Central Bogor District, Bogor City, West Java.

For information, Bogor is included in the disaster risk index with a moderate category. West Java according to the 2021 Disaster Risk Index (IRBI) does have a complex geological structure with mountainous areas in the middle and south, and lowlands in the north.

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts the potential for moderate-heavy rainfall that can be accompanied by lightning/lightning and strong winds for the period October 2022.

The Operations Control Center of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) informed that five sub-districts in Bogor City were affected by floods and landslides.

The BNPB Pusdalops stated that a number of areas affected by floods and landslides were Kedung Halang, Tanah Baru and Tegal Gundil Villages in North Bogor District.

Furthermore, in the Villages of Gunung Batu, Pasir Jaya, Margajaya, West Cilendek and Menteng in West Bogor District. Then in the Villages of Genteng, Pamoyanan, Pakuan, Sempur, Muara Sari and Cikaret in South Bogor District.

Villages of Cibogor, Sempur, Kebon Kalapa, Pangaran, Ciwaringin, Central Bogor and Tegal Lega in Central Bogor District. While one kelurahan, namely Kebon Pedes in Tanah Cereal District.

Anticipating the potential for wet hydrometeorological hazards in the rainy season, the Bogor City Government has established an extension of the flood emergency response status.

This status is effective from September 10 to December 31, 2022, through Bogor Mayor Decree Number 360/Kep.290-BPBD/2022.

The Most Dominant Landslide

Based on the BNPB study, the city of Bogor recorded that landslides were the most dominant natural disaster. During 1992 – 2016 there were 46 natural disasters that occurred in the city of Bogor. The most disasters that occurred were landslides with 21 events and extreme weather with 13 events.

Based on these data, landslides have a percentage of 47%. This illustrates that the city of Bogor is very prone to landslides. The percentage of other disasters is extreme weather as much as 29%. Therefore, local governments need to make efforts to reduce disaster risk in a systematic and planned manner.

DMC Dompet Dhuafa appealed to the public to always increase awareness and preparedness for natural disasters. Various preparedness steps can be taken, both residents and communities, such as being aware of heavy rains of long duration, people living in river basins or lowlands can immediately evacuate temporarily to a safer place before flooding occurs.
