Chairman Dompet Dhuafa Become the Secretary General of the World Zakat Forum

International Zakat Conference - WZFDDHK News, United States - President Director Dompet Dhuafa (DD) Ahmad Juwaini was elected as Secretary General of the World Zakat Forum or World Zakat Forum (WZF) for the period 2014-2017 in International Zakat Conference held in New York, United States, 28-29 May 2014.

Ahmad Juwaini who replaced the previous secretary general, KH Didin Hafidhuddin, accompanied by eight Deputy Secretary Generals, namely Imam Shamsi Ali (New York), Elnur Salihovic (Bosnia), Mohd Izam bin Mohd Yuso (Malaysia), Mohd Rasiq Mukhtar (Sudan), M Hoosen Essof (South Africa), Syed Zafaar Mahmood (India ), Mohd Obaidullah (IDB / Saudi Arabia), and Irfan Syauqi Beik (BAZNAS Expert Staff).

Apart from choosing a new administrator, International Zakat Conference ywhich was attended by representatives from dozens of countries also discussed various strategic issues. The conference concluded the need to strengthen global cooperation in the management of zakat, so that zakat can provide greater benefits for mankind, especially Muslims.

WZF's written statement is quoted as saying Between said the conference participants discussed how to optimize the potential of zakat and make zakat the main instrument in an effort to reduce poverty and income inequality.

The conference participants also agreed that WZF should be a place to exchange ideas and thoughts related to zakat development, communication facilitators, cross-country and cross-regional zakat cooperation, as well as the media to improve the quality of zakat management.

The conference aims to build synergy and coordination among strategic stakeholders of world zakat, ranging from practitioners of zakat institutions, academics, scholars, to NGOs that have concerns about humanitarian issues and economic justice.

Representatives from dozens of countries attending the meeting included Indonesia, the United States, Malaysia, India, Sudan, South Africa, Yemen, Turkey, Bosnia Herzegovina, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. (AMONG).*
