Lower Saxony Allow Hijab and Muslim Holidays

German-MuslimDDHK News, Germany - The German government continues to strengthen ties with various Muslim communities. One of them is by signing an agreement that will make the Muslim major holidays a national holiday.

As reported by local media, several cities in Germany, such as Bremen and Hamburg, have entered into 'State Agreements' with several Muslim representatives. A similar agreement was signed in the city of Berlin, the capital of Germany.

Now the same agreement is being held by the government in Lower Saxony.

The agreement, which will take effect from next year, will also allow Muslim women who wear hijab to legally carry out their activities there.

Currently, in Lower Saxony, Muslim students have the right to take a day off at home on major Islamic holidays, but not all locations feel the same way.

Later, three organizations representing Muslims in Germany, namely the Ministry of Religion-State Relations, the Turkish Islamic Union for Religious Affairs and the Council for Alevi Peoples, will sign a new agreement with the government.

With a similar agreement signed in Berlin, the Secretary General of the Berlin Islamic Federation, Burhan Kesici, expressed his hope that all Islamic organizations would be officially recognized at the same level as representatives of other religious organizations.

In this way the Muslim community also has the right to receive the same treatment from the government, so that if there is a religious issue, everything can be resolved at the government level. (worldbulletin. net/mirajnews.com). *
