Hong Kong Radio and Television (RTHK) reported this morning that at least one protester was shot at close range in Sai Wan Ho. The incident took place outside the intersection of Shing On Street and Tai Shek Street, just before 8 a.m.

“A number of masked protesters threw debris onto the road as a traffic policeman rushed over to confront them. The officer pulled out his gun and pointed it straight at one of the protesters wearing a white hoodie at close range, before placing it on his head. Another protester in black shirts then approached. The officer immediately pointed a gun at him. The man ducked, then slapped the gun with his bare hands, before the officer appeared to open fire from less than half a meter away, with the gun aimed at the body of the protester, ”wrote RTHK.

Two more people, one in black shirts and one in gray, stepped forward to confront the officers. The police opened two more shots. Until finally the riot police arrived, assisting traffic officers, dealing with the protesters.

The ambulance arrived about 6 minutes after the shooting. At that moment the first person to be shot appeared to be barely moving, lying in a pool of blood.
