Blocking of Porn Sites Reaches 90%

The blocking of pornographic sites / content on the internet by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology has reached 90 percent.

"The problem of blocking pornographic content on the internet is 90 percent blocked," said the Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo), Tifatul Sembiring, after attending the Post and Telecommunications Service Day in Bandung, Monday.

He said that every operator or internet service provider "updates" the system three times a day to block pornographic content.

"We do have a post for complaints of negative content in cyberspace for the public, but all operators are required to up date the system three times a day to block pornographic sites," he said.

In the future, his party will make the latest innovations to block pornographic sites in cyberspace, such as giving gifts to people who report pornographic content on the internet.

"We will continue to block pornographic content by sharing innovations, for example by giving gifts to citizens who report," said Tifatul.

He added that internet services that do not block pornographic sites will directly deal with the police.

"For all internet services, we emphasize that they are obliged to carry out this (blocking), if they do not do so they will deal with the police later," said Tifatul. (ANTARA News). *
