President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono finally discussed the tax mafia case, Gayus Tambunan, in a limited cabinet meeting on Monday (17/1). On that occasion, President Yudhoyono issued instructions as outlined in a Presidential Instruction [read: About Gayus, the President Issued a Special Instruction]
The President instructed the completion of the Gayus case, including sanctions for the guilty party. According to him, there were a number of irregularities in the Gayus case, both in the tax, judicial, and immigration circles. "There were deviations and violations in that case. In this case the police, the prosecutor's office and the tax directorate general, ”said President Yudhoyono.
Following are the instructions conveyed by the president regarding the Gayus case:
1. The National Police / prosecutor's office / Ministry of Law and Human Rights and the Ministry of Finance will immediately resolve the Gayus case by involving the KPK and PPATK
2. Encourage the KPK to handle cases that have not been handled by the police
3. Performance audits at institutions related to the Gayus case
4. Fair and indiscriminate law enforcement
5. Law enforcement with the reverse method of proof
6. Return the money and state assets
7. Mutations and removal for the guilty
8. Arrangement of institutions, organizations, or officials who are at fault
9. Review work systems
10. Periodic reports on the completion of the Gayus case
11. Explain to the wider community the Gayus case
12. Assign the Vice President and the Legal Mafia Eradication Task Force for supervision
The public hopes that the government will seriously resolve and expose those involved in the tax mafia. If not, the Gayus case will just be a joke and don't blame the public if they no longer trust the government. (Liputan6)
