Tri's condition, Hong Kong BMI with bird flu, improves

DDHK News, Hong Kong - The condition of Indonesian workers (TKI) affected by the bird flu virus in Hong Kong, Tri Mawarti, is getting better. Tri is reported to be no longer being treated in the intensive care room (ICU), although he is still being isolated at Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong.

This was conveyed by Sam Aryadi, Young Consulate for Social and Cultural Information, Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) in Hong Kong, during a conversation with Viva news by telephone, Thursday (16/1). Tri is able to communicate verbally.

“Apart from that, the breathing apparatus that was previously attached to Tri's body has now been removed. But the hospital continues to monitor Tri's health condition, because he is the first patient with H7N9 bird flu in Hong Kong, "said Sam.

Tri's son, Eka Fitria, finally met his mother on 19 December 2013. According to Sam, Eka was in Hong Kong for three days.

"They met but made no physical contact. But provided a telephone and television screen to communicate. When they meet, they cry to each other. Then Tri asked his son about the news and school, ”said Sam.

Even though Tri's condition continues to improve, the Indonesian Consulate General still has not received information on when will Tri be allowed to return home.

Previously reported, Tri was rushed to Queen Mary Hospital on November 30, 2013 because he tested positive for the H7N9 bird flu virus. From his previous travel history, Tri is known to have traveled for four days to the city of Shenzen.
