DDHK.ORG - Pemerintah Hong Kong will provide a station for free Covid-19 testing for foreign domestic workers (PRT). The mobile stations will be located in three locations which are usually the gathering places for foreign domestic workers in Negeri Beton.
It was announced Hong Kong's Labor Department on Tuesday (9/3/2021). The provision of a Covid-19 test station for foreign domestic workers will take place for two consecutive Sundays, namely March 14 and 21, 2021.
“From August 2020 to February 2021, the Government has provided several rounds of free COVID-19 testing services for foreign domestic workers whose previous work contracts have expired or have been terminated and who are waiting to join the new employer's family. In order to benefit more foreign domestic workers and reduce the risk of spreading the virus in the community, the Ministry of Manpower will set up a mobile specimen collection station at a popular gathering place for foreign domestic workers to facilitate all foreign domestic workers in Hong Kong to receive tests, "said a spokesman for the Ministry of Labor Hong Kong, as published on the official website of the Hong Kong Government, www.gov.hk.
The Hong Kong government strongly encourages all foreign domestic workers to participate in this free testing to protect their health. “We also appeal to employment agencies and employers (employers) to encourage and arrange for their foreign domestic workers to receive free testing services at designated mobile specimen collection stations. No prior appointment (booking) is required, ”said the Spokesman.
This Covid-19 test station will be provided at the Chater Road Pedestrian Area in Central (near the bus stop); Hing Fat Street entrance in Victoria Park, Causeway Bay (near Exit A2 of Tin Hau MTR Station); and the Lai Chi Kok Park entrance (near Exit D of Mei Foo MTR Station). The stations are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
To be able to take this free Covid-19 test, a foreign domestic worker must bring her HKID or passport, and register her personal information at the Covid-19 test location on the government website (www.tgptest.gov.hk. Please select “Non-Government Staff - Foreign domestic helpers”) to receive an SMS notification of test results. Foreign domestic workers will be given the barcode number of the specimen bottles they collect after registration for reference. If necessary, duty officers can assist foreign domestic workers in registration.
