The Story of Siti Fatimah Quarantine Upon Arriving in Indonesia

DDHK.ORG - On August 15, 2021, a volunteer member of the Fundraising Team Dompet Dhuafa Hong Kong (DDHK), Siti Fatimah, returned to Indonesia and plans not to return to work in the Concrete Country. There are several procedures that migrant workers have to go through Indonesia (PMI), who is usually called Imah, returned to her hometown. One of them is the mandatory quarantine at Wisma Atlet, Jakarta, upon arrival in the country.

The following is Fatimah's story while sharing her experience during quarantine. He wrote about this experience on August 23, 2021, shortly before leaving Wisma Atlet.

"The PSBB rules and the ban on domestic flights issued by the Government of Indonesia since April 24, 2021, coupled with new rules such as Circulars from the Ministry of Health, Circulars from the COVID-19 Task Force have made a lot of Indonesian migrant workers confused when they want to go home. to the country.

These are the steps that must be taken when we return to Indonesia:

  1. Show proof of vaccine;
  2. Shows a negative swab test (PCR) result;
  3. Download and complete the eHAC Indonesia application; as well as
  4. Download and fill out the Customs mobile application.

Safe Passing, Not Scorched

Arriving at Soekarno Hatta airport in Jakarta, the Task Force is ready to accompany us, the PMIs who want to take the bus to Wisma Atlit. The Task Force provides good, friendly, and courteous service. The task force explained to those of us who were going home one by one, what steps to take when my friends and I arrived at Wisma Atlit.

In my opinion, the management of Indonesian citizens returning from abroad is now much better. Clustering is carried out for each country before boarding the bus, so that Indonesian citizens who come from one country and another are not mixed.

Regarding further travel tickets, the Garuda Indonesia airline has informed that the tickets used for transit will not be forfeited. If you have a transit ticket, try to always communicate with Garuda or the task force team.

My advice, if PMI friends want to return to the country, do a lot of searching for valid information. Don't panic, just follow the prescribed return steps. Although it looks complicated when read, but when it is lived it is not as complicated as imagined.”

8 Days at Wisma Atlet Jakarta

“Arriving at the Wisma Atlet, small groups were formed again based on the quarantine floor. Each group has a coordinator who will communicate with the Task Force officers. So, if there is an important announcement, not all Wisma residents come down. Only the coordinator.

At Wisma Atlit we all follow the health protocols set by the Government. Namely, conducting the first rapid test upon arrival at the Wisma building. Next, tested again quickly on the 7th day. My friends and I from Indramayu, West Java, before returning to Indonesia had been vaccinated using the BionTech vaccine 2 times and there was a swab test (PCR) certificate as well. However, all of them are still required to quarantine for 8 days at the Wisma Atlet.

After undergoing the first rapid test, I and the other Indonesian citizens (WNI) were given a choice by the Covid-19 Task Force: whether to wait for the test results in a place provided by the Government at the Wisma Atlet or want to wait for them by staying in a hotel. If you wait at the Wisma Atlet then there is no charge. If you choose to stay at a hotel, you will be given the address of a hotel recommended for quarantine at your own expense.

While at Wisma Atlit, I was given food rations 3 times a day. That is, every 7 am, 1 pm, and 7 pm.

On the 7th day we did the 2nd rapid test. After the test results came out negative, the next day they could go home.

Alhamdulillahirobbil'alamin Allah made it easy for me to return to my hometown. Hopefully all of my friends who return to the country will also be given a smooth return process and be given a smooth ride without any obstacles.

Don't forget to maintain health, wear masks, also apply a clean and healthy lifestyle.

Warm greetings from Wisma Atlet, Jakarta..!” [DDHKNews]
