Omni Palace, For Chinese Soup Noodle Lovers in Causeway Bay

HONG KONG - Chinese specialties or culinary delights are popular with us, Indonesians. In our country, culinary delights that are often called Chinese food are scattered in a number of places, both in high-class restaurants to roadside stalls.

So, what if a Muslim friend who loves Chinese culinary is visiting or traveling to Hong Kong? Or, for a Muslim friend who lives and works in the Land of Beton, then wants to eat this favorite menu?

Because, for us there is a main consideration: the food must be halal! Understandably, many local foods in Hong Kong are made with a mixture that is not halal. So, be super careful.

But don't worry! Currently, there are many halal restaurants and places to eat in Hong Kong. One of them, a noodle house and grill themed restaurant called Omni Palace. Namely, a place to eat with the main menu of noodle soup typical of Chinese food.

Talking about noodles, China is synonymous with this one food. There is a note, in 2005 found the oldest noodles 4000 years old in mainland China. This discovery is proof that modern Chinese residents were the first to make noodles.

Well, for a Muslim friend who likes Chinese noodle culinary, delicious, and Halal certified, this is the Omni Palace: Noodle House and Grill. And what's cool, the location is in Causeway Bay, one of the areas that is the center of Indonesian activities in the Land of Concrete.

At the end of August 2019, General Manager Dompet Dhuafa Hong Kong (DDHK), Pak Imam Baihaqi, invited Dai Cordofa, Ustadz Zulfirman, and Pak Doni Marlan from the DD Central office, who were visiting Hong Kong, to taste halal noodles at a restaurant that had just opened in early 2019.

There are various kinds of Chinese noodle soup here, with a variant of the size of the noodles according to taste. There are thin, round noodles, also flat noodles. The price is quite affordable. The portion is HK $ 58 for the small size, and HK $ 68 for the larger size. "Even a small portion is a jumbo bowl, which can be eaten by two people," said Imam, while sipping the noodles caught by a long-handled spoon and chopsticks.

The location, on Jaffe Road number 481, is not far from Sogo Causeway Bay. Just a five-minute walk from behind a pretty iconic shopping center. If Sahabat Muslim is from inside the Causeway Bay MTR station, you can take the exit (Exit) D1. A few steps walk left from the MTR Exit, turn right at the T-junction. A short walk, will find a Mannings shop intersection, then turn left. The position of the Omni Palace restaurant is in line with the building block with Mannings, the Wellcome supermarket, and the Jockey Club. Located on the ground floor, on the side of the road, right next to the Tsui Wah restaurant.

"The place is perfect for hanging out with friends or work partners," said Pak Imam.

While waiting for the dish to arrive, Sahabat Muslim can see first hand the process of making the noodles by chefs who use the typical white Muslim cap and blue plaid apron typical of Chinese restaurant chefs. Because, the position of the kitchen is right next to the entrance and is limited by a glass wall. All activities in the kitchen are clearly visible to us from the dining room.

I myself have visited here several times. Uh, there's a goat satay menu too. The satay is typical of China, using a stainless steel prick. Its oily appearance is very appetizing. The price, HK $ 18 for 5 sticks.

For those who like mutton, besides satay, fried goat meat is also available, as ordered by Pak Imam and Pak Doni's group. Taste? Delicious tasty!
