The General Election Commission (KPU) determined that 204.807.222 permanent voters would be on the final voter list (DPT) in the 2024 election. The decision was made in an Open Plenary Meeting of the Final Voter List Recapitulation at the KPU Office, Jakarta, Sunday (2/7/2023).
"With the number of men and women 204.807.222. Ladies and gentlemen, that is the final voter list recapitulation by the KPU for the 2024 Election," said KPU RI Commissioner Betty Epsilon Idroos.
Betty said the number of male voters was 102.218.503 and 102.588.719 female voters. The number of DPT is based on national voter recapitulation spread across 38 Provinces, 514 districts/cities, and 128 representative countries.
Of the total DPT, there are 203.056.748 domestic voters. In detail, there were 101.467.243 male voters and 101.589.505 female voters. While 1.750.474 voters are abroad spread across 128 representative countries. With details, the number of male voters is 751.260 and 999.214 women.
Meanwhile, the total polling stations (TPS) both at home and abroad are 823.220. "The number of polling stations in the country is 820.161. TPSLN (Foreign Voting Places), KSK (Mobile Ballot Boxes), and Post were set at 3.059," he said.
The KPU also revealed that West Java was the area with the highest number of voters in the 2024 election. The number of voters included in the DPT in West Java was 35.714.901 voters. Then followed by East Java with 31.402.838 voters, Central Java with 28.289.413 voters, North Sumatra with 10.853.940 voters, and Banten with 8.842.646 voters.
"These are the five provinces with the largest number of voters," said Betty.
DKI Jakarta is in sixth position with 8.252.897 voters, followed by South Sulawesi with 6.670.582 voters and Lampung with 6.539.128 voters.
The 2024 election will take place on February 14 2024 simultaneously. On that day, people were given five ballots at once at the polling station (TPS).
The five ballots include ballots for the presidential-vice presidential candidates, DPR member candidates, provincial DPRD member candidates, regency/city DPRD member candidates and DPD member candidates. Regarding the 2024 Election, the KPU has determined the political parties participating in the election. Meanwhile, the presidential and vice presidential candidates will be determined on November 25, 2023.
