Israelis Demand Mosque Demolition

A number of Israelis demonstrated to call for the destruction of a mosque in the southern city of Nablus, West Bank. As reported by Wafa, the official Palestinian news agency, Thursday (30/9), Israelis hang seductive posters in various areas in the city of Nablus. Especially at the location of the mosque, namely the Persian village of Salman Burin.

In the village, there are almost daily conflicts between Palestinians and Jews living in nearby settlements. Dighlis Ghassan, an anti-Palestinian activist in the northern West Bank, acknowledged that a number of Israelis were demonstrating. They hang posters and slogans that are painted with racist Jewish messages.

An Israeli court has ordered the mosque's demolition. The reason is, the construction of the mosque was carried out illegally. However, Palestine is appealing the decision, although until now the case is still pending.

Earlier, in May, Israeli settlers burned down two mosques in Yasuf and Al-Laban village, also in Nablus. Israelis have also written anti-Palestinian slogans on the walls of a third mosque in Howara. (ANS / Xinhua / L6)
