Greysia/Apriyani Win Tokyo Olympic Gold

DDHK.ORG — Women's doubles Indonesia, Greysia Polii/Apriyani Rahayu managed to beat the Chinese pair, Chen Qing Chen/Jia Yi Fan, 21-19 and 21-15, in the final match which was held at Musashino Forest Sport Plaza, Tokyo, Monday (2/8/2021). With this victory, Greysia / Apriyani donated the first gold for the Indonesian contingent at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Greysia/Apriyani performed superbly against the second seed of the Tokyo Olympics. Greysia/Apriyani's defense and forward ball game successfully brought the Indonesian women's doubles to continue to lead until the end of the first game interval with a score of 11-8. Had equalized to 11-11, Greysia/Apriyani took the lead again and then finished the first game with a 21-19 victory over Chen/Jia.

In the second game, Greysia/Apriyani immediately appeared to lead the score. At the interval, the Indonesian pair led 11-7, and ensured victory and won the gold medal after winning 21-15.
