Ahmadiyya New Zealand Holds Annual Convention

DDHK News - The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community (Ahmadiyya Muslim Community) of New Zealand is scheduled to gather in Manukau, Auckland, for the 22nd Annual Convention, Saturday, 29 January 2011.

Mohammad Iqbal, President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, believes that it is time for acts of terrorism to be condemned by a Muslim organization and explained that such acts are un-Islamic and contrary to the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad.

“It is time to remind the world that the goal of all religions is to spread peace, tolerance and understanding. Acts of violence and terror are the misuse of religion by fanatics, ”Iqbal was quoted as saying Scoop (13 / 1).

In a special session for guests and delegates starting at 10.30 am, the Ahmadiyya leader of New Zealand, Maulana Shafiq-ur-Rahman, will explain that Islam is truly a religion of equality and justice. This year's conference carries the theme "Muslims for peace" and has involved a series of peace events throughout 2010 as well as campaigns for Islam not a violent religion. They also distributed about 5.000 pamphlets containing messages of peace.

The annual convention is celebrated internationally with tens of thousands of participants in countries including Australia, UK, Germany, Canada and the United States.
