DDHK.ORG - Even though the Quraysh were well prepared to carry out their plans, they still failed miserably. At that critical moment the Messenger of Allah said to Ali bin Abu Talib, "Sleep on my bed, covered with my coat the color that comes from this Hadhramaut. Sleep in that coat. Indeed, you will still be safe from the disturbances of those whom you worry about." Usually it is with the cloak that the Messenger of Allah sleeps.
Then the Messenger of Allah went out of the house to break their siege. He picked up a handful of sand and sprinkled it on their heads. Verily Allah has blinded them so that they cannot see him.
لْنَا بَيْنِ ا لْفِهِمْ ا اهُمْ لَا
"And We put in front of them a wall and behind them a wall (also), and We closed their (eyes) so that they could not see." (Surah Yasin: 9)
He sprinkled sand on the heads of each of them and went to Abu Bakr's house. The two of them came out of Abu Bakr's house in the middle of the night until they arrived at the Cave of Tsur.
The people who surrounded his house continued to wait for the planned moment. But before that there were signs of failure of the plan. At that time a man who did not belong to their group came up to them, asking, "What are you waiting for?"
"Muhammad," they answered.
"You guys are bummed. By Allah, he has passed you while leaving sand on your heads, then he left for his needs."
"By Allah, we didn't see it," they said as they got up and brushed the sand off their heads.
From the gap in the door they peeked into the house, and saw a sleeping figure (Ali). They said, "By Allah Muhammad is sleeping in his coat."
It turned out that until the morning they did nothing. Ali got out of bed and was immediately surrounded. They asked where Muhammad was. Ali replied, "I don't know."
