Mosque security in France will be tightened

the old mosque in FranceDDHK News, France - The Prime Minister (PM) of France, Manuel Valls, said that after tightening security in Jewish schools and places of worship, the French government will also tighten security in schools and Islamic places of worship (mosques). This was done after the increasing attacks on Muslims in France.

“There is an urgent need to protect not only synagogues and Jewish schools, but also mosques. This is because attacks on Muslims are increasing day by day, ”Valls said in a statement, as reported Reuters, Tuesday (13/1/2015).

However, Valls has not provided details on when and how many troops will be deployed to protect mosques across France. To protect Jewish schools and places of worship, the French government has deployed at least 5.000 security forces.

According to the president of the resistance group against Islamophobia in France or CCIF, Abdallah Zekri, he has never seen such incidents of violence targeting Muslims in France. According to Zakri, there have been more than 50 cases of violence targeting mosques and Muslims in France.

Zakri hopes that the French government can immediately send French security forces to provide protection for mosques, as well as Islamic schools throughout France.

Within the Week 50 Attacks on Muslims

CCIF stated that after the terror acts in Paris, the wave of attacks against Muslims in that country continued to increase. In the past week, according to CCIF, there have been at least 50 attacks across France, both physical and verbal attacks.

“There are 54 reports of anti-Muslim actions after the Paris terror, with 21 reports of attacks on mosques. Meanwhile, 33 other reports of threats of attacks and insults against Muslims throughout France, "said Abdallah Zekri.

Reported Russia Today, Tuesday (13/1/2015), Zekri said the report was based on data from the French Interior Ministry. "These incidents do not include incidents in the suburbs of Paris, and also at the Poitiers mosque," he added.

Zakri said that during his stay in France, he had never seen so many incidents that shocked Muslims as victims. He called on the French government to tighten security at mosques in France, just as the French government increased security in Jewish places of worship.

Earlier, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon had called for no retaliation against Muslims regarding the Paris terror. In his view, the terror that occurred in Paris was a pure crime, and had nothing to do with Islam. (reuters/russiatoday/sindonews). *
