The Indonesian National Football Team for Under 17 Years (Timnas U-17) left for Hong Kong, Tuesday (24/1), to participate in a trial tournament in Hong Kong on January 28, 2012 (Hong Kong Football Association International Youth Football Invitation Tournament ) at Po Kong Village Park.
Chairman of PSSI, Djohar Arifin Husin, said the decision to send the Garuda Muda squad to Hong Kong was one of the initial programs for PSSI management in preparing national teams of various ages.
"No targets were given to the team while performing in Hong Kong. However, the results achieved will be used as evaluation material, especially in preparing a multi-layered national team squad, from U-14 to seniors, "said Djohar.
Contacted separately, the coach of the U-17 National Team, Indra Syafri, said that even though preparation was minimal, he was optimistic that his foster children could fight back. This, he added, can be seen from the graph of the players' improvement during the training camp.
"We have done the game simulation. We have tried the strategy in Hong Kong in the last training session, ”said the coach from Semen Padang.
In Hong Kong, the U-17 national team is projected to participate in a friendly tournament that will be participated by four countries (Macau, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and Singapore). The tournament took place 27-29 January 2012.
They will be in Hong Kong from 24 to 30 January 2012.
