MTR Fare Up

Starting yesterday, Sunday (25/6/2023), MTR fares have increased, an average of 2,3 percent. This increase is the realization of the announcement made since last March.

“About 75 per cent of the fares will have an upward adjustment of 20 HK cents or less, while 18 per cent will have an adjustment of 30 to 40 HK cents,” the Hong Kong Standard reported.

The fare from Mong Kok to Yau Ma Tei will increase from HK$4,7 to HK$4,8, and taking the train from Tuen Mun to Admiralty will cost an additional 70 HK cents.

Trips with the steepest price increases were those from Lo Wu or Lok Ma Chau to Disneyland Station, which were up 2,4 percent. From HK$57,8 before to almost HK$60.
