Lailatul Qadar, when is the time?

DDHK. ORG - Lailatul Qadar is the night people have been waiting for Islam in the month of Ramadan. This is a night full of glory, even more important than the night of 1.000 months.

Deputy Chairman of the General Council of Ulama Indonesia (MUI) Anwar Abbas as reported Kompas said, worship in Lailatul Qadar his goodness will be counted many times.

“So if we worship and do good on that night, then by Allah SWT the deeds of worship and good that we do will be rewarded with the same reward. It means, we have done this for 1.000 months or 83,3 years," he said (8/4/2023).

When is Lailatul Qadar? There are many opinions regarding this. Nevertheless, Rasulullah SAW encouraged his people to increase their good deeds and good deeds in the last 10 nights of Ramadan, especially on odd dates.

As for the last 10 days on the odd nights of the month of Ramadan, such as the 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th and 29th nights.

Lailatul Qadar approach method Space Science Center National Aeronautics and Space Agency (LAPAN) National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) Andi Prince said, there are several methods of approaching this moment.

The first is according to Imam Al Ghazali who said, this special night will always fall on Sunday night, unless the start of Ramadan falls on Wednesday. If the beginning of Ramadan falls on Wednesday, then this special night will fall on Wednesday night.

"Because the beginning of Ramadan 1444 H this year falls on Thursday, March 23, 2023, it uses the main rule, namely Lailatul Qadar falls on Sunday night, which is counted from the 15th after maghrib to Sunday the 16th before dawn," Andi explained to Kompas .com Monday.

Meanwhile, another method used to approach the night of Qadar is according to Abu Hasan Asyadzili. Andi, this method is slightly different from that used by Imam Al Ghazali because this special night does not fall on Sunday night, but according to each day, namely:

The beginning of Ramadan falls on a Saturday: the night of Qadar falls on the night of Sunday, the 21st night.

The beginning of Ramadan falls on a Sunday: the night of Qadar falls on the night of Friday, the 27th night.

The beginning of Ramadan falls on Monday or Friday: the night of Qadar will fall on the 29th night, that is, Monday night or Friday night.

The beginning of Ramadan falls on Tuesday: Lailatul Qadar falls on the 25th night, namely Friday night.

The beginning of Ramadan falls on a Wednesday: Lailatul Qadar falls on Friday night, the 27th night.

The beginning of Ramadan falls on Thursday: Lailatul Qadar falls on the 5th night of the odd date of the last 10 days of Ramadan, which is the 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th, 29th night in a row.

"Because the beginning of Ramadan 1444 H falls on Thursday, March 23, 2023, Lailatul Qadar will fall on these 5 days," said Andi.

Signs of Lailatul Qadar Because it cannot be predicted with certainty, there are several things that can be used to mark Lailatul Qadar, including: The sky is clear and not overcast. The atmosphere and the wind feels cool at night. Even so, again no one knows for sure when Lailatul Qadar will occur.

“There are no definite signs that we can know and confirm. Even though some say the signs are as I mentioned earlier, no one can confirm it," said Anwar Abbas. [DDHK News]
