Hong Kong Hospital Authority Launches Drug Delivery Service

DDHK. ORG – Spokesperson for the Hospital Authority (HA) Hong Kong announced today, May 2, 2023 that they will be rolling out their drug delivery service in phases. This service is to give patients who come to specialist clinics additional options to take drug they.

Reporting from Dimsumdaily, patients will be able to use the HA mobile app “HA Go” to select delivery to their home or designated address.

The plan is for this service to be launched on May 15 at specialist clinics at Queen Mary Hospital and Tseung Kwan O Hospital.

Queen Mary Hospital is the largest hospital in the Far East region. The name of the hospital comes from the name of Queen Mary of Teck (Victoria Mary Augusta Louise Olga Pauline Claudine Agnes) who is the wife of King George V (George Frederick Ernest Albert) from Great Britain.

The hospital was also used as a hospital for the Japanese army when Hong Kong became a Japanese colony during the Second World War. On 1 October 1945 the hospital resumed operations after Japan returned Hong Kong sovereignty to the United Kingdom.

Available to All Patients

The spokesperson stated that this service is available to all specialist clinic patients in public hospitals. The first phase will be available to “HA Go” members aged 18 and over, and who have enough medication at home for the new drug to arrive, and with a prescription sheet that does not contain a new prescription or medication that needs to be taken immediately.

A standard fee of HKD 65 will be charged per prescription, regardless of the quantity, weight, size or type of medication on the prescription.

This service will deliver most of the drugs prescribed by the hospital or clinic managed by HA, including refrigerated drugs.

The delivery service covers all areas, including the outer islands, and the system will display the estimated delivery time. Delivery arrangements will be confirmed before 3pm on the day of the patient's visit, and the medication will be delivered the following day. [DDHK News]
