Health Protocol Violation Fines Up To HK $ 5,000

DDHK.ORG - Pemerintah Hong Kong, Friday, December 4, 2020, announced that the direct penalty penalty for violating disease prevention and control rules was heavier, from HK $ 2,000 to HK $ 5,000. This provision will take effect from 11 December 2020

This was reported by the official website of the Hong Kong Government, news.gov.hk.

The new provisions regarding the heavier fines were issued, considering that Hong Kong is facing the fourth wave of the Covid-19 outbreak. Increasing the nominal amount of fines is considered very important and relevant to create a deterrent effect on the community. It is also necessary, to ensure strict compliance with relevant requirements, apart from tightening infection control measures.

"For anyone who participates in a prohibited group meeting, does not wear a mask in all public places, or fails to comply with the requirements of the mandatory inspection directive or notification, the permanent penalty for discharge of responsibility for the offense was increased from HK $ 2,000 to HK $ 5,000," the Government wrote.

Along with an increase in the fixed fine, the maximum penalty for violation was also increased to a fine of HK $ 10,000. "The government will step up inspection measures and take strict enforcement action against violators," the Government said.

The government strongly urges all members of society to stay at home wherever possible and stop all unnecessary social activities.

On December 4, 2020, Hong Kong recorded 112 new cases of Covid-19. As many as 100 of them are cases of local infection. This is the second day in December that the State of Concrete has recorded new cases above 100. Apart from that, since the last 10 days of November, Hong Kong has always recorded a fairly high number of new cases every day. That is, it is always over 40 cases and often it is nearly 100 cases.
