Feeling Ignored in Assembly, What Should I Do?

Feeling Ignored in Assembly, What Should I Do?

Assalamualaikum. Ustadz, I want to ask a question.

I prefer to actually vent, because in our assembly now the management and education arrangements are in disarray. The beginning of the problem, there are new people in the assembly.

Why do they always change the management positions without any elections and meetings? Others are waiting for the election of a new board of directors. They always advised me to relax and disappointed my friends who had been in the assembly for years.

What I also ask is, every time there is a competition, I always participate and thank God I always carry the name of the assembly. But instead of being appreciated, some even said that while aji was still used to it, there were also those who reprimanded me, "it's time for knowledge to be passed on to others". What needs to be underlined, they limit my range of motion.

In fact, all the duties of the assembly I do. Starting from teaching to lifting the sound system from the warehouse to the assembly.

What I want to ask, is my silence because every suggestion I have is always ignored wrong?

Please guide me, how should I deal with them? I once said I wanted to resign and study abroad, but was persuaded to stay. But when I followed their will to survive, in the assembly I felt unneeded. Sometimes I cry alone, what exactly do they want from me?

Thank you, Ustadz.

Greetings, Fulanah

ANSWER:

Wassalamu'alaikum warahmatullahi wabarokaatuh.

Bismillah… Islam is a religion that invites unity and congregation in the affairs of goodness. Islam forbids division within the body of the Muslims. Allah SWT says:

ا۟ لِ للَّهِ ا لَا ا۟ۚ {سورة ل ان: }

"And hold fast all of you to the rope (religion) of Allah, and do not separate yourselves." {Surat Ali Imran: 103}

Unity in Islam can also be reflected in the context of a Muslim organizing in an association in which there are virtues. One of them, the taklim assembly or the like.

It has become sunnatullah that in this world there must be people who have the nature and character to want to dominate and may override other people without any clear reason. It could be that these people have hasad (envy) towards the people around them.

How do we deal with such people? Stay istiqomah and keep doing good. Other steps we can take are:

  1. Get to know the person well;
  2. Do not talk much about our goodness or achievements in front of him. Stay cool and keep tawadlu';
  3. Instill in ourselves that hasad is a despicable quality that can suppress goodness;
  4. Read a lot of Surah Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, and An-Nas, as well as other prayers such as:

لمات الله التامات ا لق

"I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created."

Keep the spirit and believe that the test is a sign of God's love for His servants.

Hope it works!

Wallâhu a'lam bish-showâb.

Regards!
