Adab Entering the Mosque in the style of Rasulullah SAW

DDHK. ORG - Adab entering the mosque is an important thing that must be known. The mosque is a house of worship that is purified and considered sacred for Muslims. As a place of worship, it has its own manners.

As reported by coil, described in the book Education Islam in the Moral Values published by Cipta Media Nusantara, maintaining manners enter the mosque is one way to maximize worship to Allah SWT and achieve blessings in it.

If there is no adab and goodness while in the mosque, the culprit will get multiple sins. Conversely, if you do good in the mosque, someone will get a double reward.

The Prophet Muhammad SAW has conveyed the manners or ethics that every Muslim must pay attention to when he is in the mosque. Check out the following:

1. Walking to the Mosque Gets Rewards

Walking to the mosque was not like going to an ordinary place. Every step towards the mosque will erase every sin that a person has and gain a high degree in the sight of Allah SWT.

In a hadith Rasulullah SAW said, "Whoever purifies himself from his house and then walks to one of the houses of Allah's houses (mosques) to fulfill one of the obligations that Allah obliges him to, then his two steps, one of which will erase sins and the steps that others will exalt.” (HR. Muslim no. 1553)

2. Wearing clean, pure clothes and covering the genitals

Maintaining the sanctity and cleanliness of the mosque is a top priority so that places of worship are protected from things that can cancel prayers. Starting from small things like wearing clothes that are clean, pure, and cover the nakedness, not expensive and branded clothes.

Allah SWT said in Alquran Surah Al-A'raf verse 31, which means:

"O children of Adam, wear beautiful clothes every time you go to the mosque, eat and drink you..." (QS. Al-Araf: 31)

3. Stepping into the Mosque Calmly and Sincerely

There is a hadith which explains how important it is to walk calmly and sincerely towards the mosque and not be in a hurry so as not to cause a commotion. The environment around the mosque must remain in a calm and stable condition so that the solemnity of worshiping Allah SWT is more optimal.

Rasulullah SAW said, "When you hear the iqamah, walk towards the prayer and you must be calm and don't rush." (HR. Bukhari n0.636 and Muslim no. 602)

4. Put your right foot first and say a prayer when entering the mosque

From Aisyah ra, she said, "The Prophet SAW always put the right one first when wearing sandals, combing his hair, washing, and so on." (Narrated by Bukhari)

The significance of the hadith above shows that entering a mosque is not like entering a public space. There are manners that must be obeyed so that the blessings of Allah overflow upon oneself. Therefore, when you want to enter the mosque, start with your right foot first while praying.
The prayer reading when entering the mosque is as follows:

Allahummaftakhliii 'abwaabarakhmatika.

Meaning: "O Allah, open the door of your mercy for me."

5. Upholding the Sunnah Tahiyatul Mosque Prayer

Rasulullah SAW said: "When you enter the mosque, don't sit down, until you pray two cycles of prayer." (HR. Muslim)

The Tahiyatul Mosque prayer is sunnah to be done as many as two cycles before sitting down. The sunnah of the Tahiyatul Mosque prayer is lost if when you enter the mosque you immediately sit down, either for a long time or for a while.

However, if you forget or don't know, it is permissible to stand straight up to perform the sunnah Tahiyatul Mosque prayer, provided that the sitting is not too long.

6. Increase Prayers Between Adhan and Iqamah

It is very clear that the time between the call to prayer and iqamah is a time full of blessings (goodness). It is appropriate for a Muslim to keep himself busy with many sunnah worships such as the Tahiyatul Mosque prayer, praying, dhikr, munajat, reading Alquran, and blessings.

This is explained in the following hadith:

"Indeed, the prayer that is not rejected is the prayer between the call to prayer and the iqamah, so pray." (Narrated by Ahmad)

7. Not Doing Be-Selling Activitiesli

The next adab when in the mosque is not to carry out buying and selling activities. This is because the mosque is only used for worship and carrying out religious activities that can increase one's faith and piety.

Rasulullah SAW said, "If you see people selling or buying in the mosque then say, 'May Allah not give profit to your merchandise'." (HR. Tirmidzi no. 1232)

8. Saying Prayers Exit the Mosque

It is sunnah to read prayers when leaving the mosque to reach God's blessings and pleasure outside the mosque. The following is a prayer leaving the mosque:

Allahumma sholli wa sallim'alaa muhammadin wa 'alaa aali muhammadin, allahumma inna 'as'aluka minfadlika.

Meaning: "O Allah, give blessings and greetings to Muhammad and Muhammad's family, O Allah, I really ask for Your grace."

Such is the etiquette when entering the mosque. Hopefully it will be implemented and add to the deeds of worship, friends. [DDHK News]
