The coordinates of the earthquake that occurred at 13.21 WIB were at 6,83 degrees South Latitude and 107,06 degrees East Longitude with a depth of 10 km. The earthquake was centered in Cianjur, West Java.
Launching Detik.com, an earthquake with a magnitude (M) of 5,6 occurred in Cianjur Regency, West Java (West Java) and caused 5 people to die.
"There have been 5 MDs (deceased) in Cianjur Regency," said Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Lt. Gen. Suharyanto when asked for confirmation, Monday (21/11/2022).
However, it has not been stated in more detail about the cause of death of the victim. The location of the victim is not yet known.
"The last update was 14.43 WIB, there were 5 MDs," said Acting Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center, Abdul Muhari, when confirmed separately.
20 Cianjur Earthquake Victims
Previously, BNPB reported that two people died as a result of the M 5,6 earthquake in Cianjur Regency. In addition, four people were reported injured.
Residents in several areas reported feeling the earthquake. In Jakarta, residents in South Jakarta, West Jakarta, and Central Jakarta felt a strong vibration for several seconds.
Meanwhile, reported by CNNIndonesia.com, Cianjur Police Chief AKBP Doni Hermawan stated that 20 people died as a result of the earthquake that occurred today.
He said it referred to data from the Cianjur District Hospital. Another 100 people were injured and treated at the hospital.
"While still in the data collection, we can see directly that 100 people are being treated for injuries, 20 people died, according to the data at the Cianjur District Hospital," he said, Monday (21/11/2022).
