Do this if the employer pays less

PMI CONSULTATION

ASKING: What should I do as a domestic worker (PRT) when I receive a salary from my employer?

ANSWER: Friends of Migrants must match the amount paid with the amount stated in the work contract. If the amount is correct, you should sign on the receipt provided by the employer.

Then, what should Friends of Migrants do if the employer pays less than the required salary? If the amount paid is less than that specified in the employment contract, you should ask your employer if there is a miscalculation. Do not sign a receipt for the amount of salary that you have not received.

If there is no satisfactory explanation for the underpayment of wages, Friends of Migrants should immediately report it to the Labor Relations Office of the Hong Kong Ministry of Manpower.

The following are the branch offices of the Hong Kong Labor Department's Labor Relations Section.
