Disneyland America allows employees to wear a headscarf

Disneyland America allows a Muslim employee who works in Orange County Park, Noor Abdallah, to wear a specially designed hijab. Previously, Disney had forbidden him to wear the hijab. The news was conveyed by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), Monday (27/9).

Initially Noor Abdallah (22 years) was told that she could not wear a headscarf while working as a vacation planner at the ticket booth at the Disneyland Resort Esplanade. But Noor is determined and refuses to take another job.

According to a spokesman for Disneyland, Suzi Brown, the management of Orange County Park finally made a compromise for Noor to wear a special hijab. Noor wears blue hijab on her head with a beret since the beginning of this month.

"Walt Disney Parks and Resorts has a long history of accommodating various demands for workers of all faiths - with more than 200 accommodations created over the past three years and this is no different," Brown was quoted as saying Star Tribune (27 / 9).

Brown said this case was separate from another case involving a Muslim worker named Imane Boudial who refused a 'special' costume that covers her head with a hat and continues to file a discrimination complaint with the federal. (Mel / ddhongkong.org)
