Once Banned, Foreigners from Hong Kong Can Enter Indonesia Again

DDHK.ORG - The Indonesian government previously closed the door for foreign nationals who came from or had visited South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Eswatini, Mozambique, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Angola, Namibia and Hong Kong within the last 14 days. However, as of Monday (20/12/2012), the entry ban on foreigners from Hong Kong was lifted.

"Removing Hong Kong from the list is to consider the spread of the Omicron case," said Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Monday, as reported by CNN Indonesia.

This was conveyed by Luhut when announcing additional countries whose citizens were prohibited from entering Indonesia to prevent the spread of the Omicron variant of the Covid-19 virus. These countries include England, Norway, and Denmark.

“The government will add more countries to the UK (UK), Norway and Denmark. We continue to monitor this. So I think every Sunday we will see if later many other countries spread it gets worse, so we will adjust it," said Luhut. [DDHKNews]
