OIC Condemns Israeli Military Aggression against Palestine

The Secretariat General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) rejects the forced displacement of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. They criticized Israel for trying to move the humanitarian crisis to neighboring countries.

As reported by Republika, the OIC said in a statement on Saturday (14/10/2023), that they also strongly condemned the blockade of medical, aid supplies and basic necessities in the Gaza Strip. This action is considered a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.

The organization reiterated its call to the international community to immediately take effective action to stop all forms of Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people. Israel's actions threaten to cause an unprecedented humanitarian disaster. According to the OIC, it is necessary to build a humanitarian corridor to provide important assistance to the Gaza Strip.

The Arab League previously stated that Israel used brutal military force to punish civilians in Gaza. They described the act as a terrible act of revenge. “What Israel is carrying out is a horrific act of revenge that [relies on] the brutal use of military force to punish the defenseless population and civilians in Gaza through random targeting,” the Arab League said in a letter addressed to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

The organization also called on the UN to use political and moral force to prevent new war crimes planned by Israel. The action of asking residents to immediately move south is seen as part of a bloody campaign against Gaza. "This new crime is a flagrant violation of Article 49 of Geneva Convention IV," said the Arab League, quoted by AlArabiyah.

“The forced displacement of the Gaza population will result in endless suffering for our Palestinian brothers and sisters,” he said.
