Typhoon Talim is getting closer to Hong Kong and its gusts are getting stronger. It is estimated that on Sunday (16/7/2023), Negeri Beton will have the warning status of “Strong Wind Number Three (T3).

“The Observatory will consider issuing a Strong Wind Signal, No. 3 before 6 am tomorrow,” said the official publication issued by the Hong Kong Observatory, Saturday (15/7/2023) evening.

Typhoon Talim has been detected since Friday (14/7/2023). This storm is moving from the direction of the Philippines and continues to approach Hong Kong. As of Saturday afternoon, 17:00 p.m., Typhoon Talim was about 570 kilometers southeast of Hong Kong. At night, the gusts were recorded at 75 kilometers per hour.

"According to the current forecast path, strong winds associated with Talim may be somewhat close to the vicinity of the mouth of the Pearl River [Sunday] evening through Monday," the Observatory said.

The Observatory issued Alert Number One Saturday morning. As of 23:32, Hong Kong was still on T1 alert status.

As of midnight Saturday, the Observatory also issued a warning that a series of intense thunderstorms would fall over Hong Kong in the next few hours. At the same time, Hong Kong was also hit by prolonged hot weather.

For Indonesian migrant workers who have a holiday tomorrow, they should be careful. Not only related to storms, but also the hot weather that is currently whacking.

“Please drink enough water. If you feel unwell, rest or seek help immediately. If necessary, seek medical advice as soon as possible," the Hong Kong Observatory wrote on its official website.
