One of the mainstay modes of transportation in Hong Kong is the MTR train. The Hong Kong MTR train service has been around since 1979. Initially, there were 2 companies operating trains in Hong Kong, namely MTR and KCR (Kowloon-Canton Railway). But since 2007 the two have been merged into one.

9 Main Line

The MTR has 9 main lines. Namely, the Island Line (blue line) with 17 stations, South Island Line with 5 stations, Tsuen Wan Line (red line) with 16 stations, Kwun Tong Line (green line) with 17 stations, Tseung Kwan O Line (purple line) with 8 stations, Tung Chung Line and Disneyland Resort with 10 stations, East Rail Line with 14 stations, and Tuen Ma Line with 27 stations.

As of this writing, September 20, 2021, the 9 main lines of the MTR have 100 stations.
