Is it permissible to sleep after Fajr and is it permissible to make up the Fajr prayer at 10 am?

DDHK.ORG - Is it permissible to sleep after Fajr and is it permissible to make up the Fajr prayer at 10 am?

Peace, mercy and blessings of God

Mr. Ustadz, I want to ask a question. Is it possible to go back to sleep after the Fajr prayer for about 1-2 hours? Because every night I have trouble sleeping. Then, is it permissible to make up the missed Fajr prayer at 10 am?

Thank you, Ustadz.

Greetings, Fulanah

ANSWER:

ليكم السلام الله ات

Bismillah... Sleep is rest and human nature to live in the world. Allah Subhanahu wata'ala says:

لۡنَا اتࣰا {سورة النبأ: }

"And We made your sleep for rest." {Surat an-Naba': 9}

The natural sleep is at night and during the day. Then how about sleeping after Fajr? There is a hadith issued by Abdullah bin Ahmad bin Hanbal, the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said:

ال الرزق

"Sleep in the morning can block sustenance."

Although this hadith is considered weak by scholars, there are positive values that a person can do if he does not sleep in the morning or after Fajr. He can do dhikr, read the Qur'an, or do other positive activities.

There is a history that says that Aisha did not go to sleep immediately after Fajr. However, he filled that time with a lot of dhikr or reading the Qur'an. If the sun rises, then he rests to sleep for a while.

So in conclusion, sleeping after Fajr is not recommended or makruh to do. Even if we want to sleep, we should wait until the sun rises if possible.

As for making up for the Fajr prayer, any Muslim who leaves the prayer because he forgets it until it is out of time, then it is obligatory for him to make up the prayer as soon as possible when he remembers it. This is in accordance with the hadith of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam:

لاة ام ا ارتها ليها ا ا. (رواه البخاري لم، اللفظ لمسلم)

"Whoever forgets to pray or falls asleep from it, then his kaffarah is to perform the prayer while remembering it." (Narrated by Bukhari Muslim, the pronunciation belongs to Muslim)

So, hurry up to make up the Fajr prayer even though it's already 10.00:XNUMX in the morning.

Hope it is useful

Wallâhu a'lam bish-showâb.

Peace, mercy and blessings of God
