Anti-Islamic Pamphlet Circulating in Australia

A pamphlet containing provocative material was widely circulated in the community. The pamphlet depicts a Muslim man committing physical violence against his wife and child. The pamphlet said the practice was sanctioned by Islamic teachings.

"We are very sad about that, we do not agree with the following pamphlet with the logic that was built," said Vice President of the Islamic Society of ACT, Canberra, Yusuf Mansuri, as quoted by onislam.net, Wednesday (4/1).

According to Yusuf, Australia is a democratic country and everyone has the right to express themselves. However, what is being spread is something that is not true and proper.

The pamphlet entitled "Is God Like You?" it depicts Muslim men committing physical violence against their wives and children. Then the man repented, embraced Christianity and learned from his mistakes. The pamphlet was published by Chick Publications, a US-based company supported by evangelicals. However, it is not clear who distributed the flyers.

Although produced by evangelical circles, Mansuri said the pamphlets were against Christian teachings. "They have a very narrow view of the message of Jesus Christ," he said.

Mansuri plans to invite all parties to learn more about the Muslim community in Australia. "We emphasize that Jesus is a prophet who is respected by Islam," he said.

Every Muslim believes, Mansuri said, that Jesus was not the son of Allah, but that he was born miraculously. As for His crucifixion, Muslims believe that Jesus was not crucified but was raised to heaven. Muslims believe that Jesus will return to earth before the Day of Judgment to restore peace and order, fight against the Anti-Christ (Al-Dajjal) and bring victory to righteousness and virtue.

Founded by Jack Chick, Chick Publications is responsible for more than 100 pamphlets on different themes ranging from Catholic issues, mormonism to homosexuality and the theory of evolution. As recorded on his official website, Chick is a Christian who dedicates his work to church service activities. (OnIslam / Republika). *
